When designing, we forget that "design packages" - though gorgeous in a photo can look too sterile in real life. My grandfather always used to say, "A messy house looks lived in."

As one of the worst house keepers in existance, I stand by his ideals! He also had a gardener, a cook and a house maid whereas I have none of these. None-the-less, I am UNDETERRED!

I digress. Choose your "extras" to suite YOU and not the house/room! Soft fuzzy blankets draped over sofas or armchairs; favourite "stuffies" from places you've been; wonky photos of you/family in REALLY cool places (like Berlin, Madrid, Las Vegas, Rome, etc). The photos are YOU whereas the FRAMES are the DESIGN! When you add your stuff into the mix, you will come up with "homey".

And home is where the warmth resideds!
