This weed is growing in my flower bed; my interest was piqued by its strong odor. It smells almost "skunky", musky and sour, and the scent was noticable from several feet away - I hadn't even touched it! I live in Louisiana, if that helps. I've been waiting to see if the lavender-colored flower buds open, but it's been several days with no change. The slightly serrated-edged leaves alternate on the stem, and are not hairy. The stem has fine white hairs. Any help identifying this plant would be much appreciated!
