Personally I like a little more control over the watering and plant things like babies and crowns in a cup (at I can water as I need to). However, there's no reason not to try it as long as the planter is the right size.

It's such a pretty color! I'm not sure that I would be brave enough to try to restart a crown directly in an Oyama planter if it was the only crown I had, but you have three crowns here you say so why not do one that way and see? I've never read about anyone claiming to do it but that doesn't mean it can't be done. But like Judy, I don't know if the control over soil moisture would be as easy there. Still, if you do try you can always restart one - or two - in the traditional manner which can then be transferred to the Oyama at a later date to be safe. (And maybe put down a leaf or two just for insurance!) However you handle it, let us know how it goes and good luck.

I split mine up last night & planted 5 teeny tiny crowns. I am trying one in the Oyama pot but going the traditional method with the others. This is my first attempt so I hope it works out well!!

The color really is pretty & I never noticed the sparkles in the flowers until I trimmed them off!

I am going to try a few leaves too. Any hints for the leaves?
