Thank you for your question. The beams running away from the camera are solid timbers, though not structural. The bigger beam in the upper left corner of the picture is a box beam.

The wood is hundreds of years old which greatly lends to its beautiful colors. We had 'new' wood in the living room trusses that needed to match these and it took a craftsman many weeks to replicate.
