I'm not a decorating expert, but I would go for a round, glass coffee table. I would also turn the rug and, if there is room, keep it out from under the sofa.

no table, use a tray on a big footstool.

Contrasting colors are big now, I like cream or white coffee table with really set up your walls in the rest of your house the contrast between brown and white is very rich and I think that that's going to make the rest of your apartment pop and give you the light feel you need try a swatch of color before you actually buy the table you can get a sample of white from any hardware store and come in and put it on top of the table you have and see how the white makes you feel I think it's a great idea to contrast

A round wooden coffee table would look the best and be more appropriate for the space. Having a round coffee table for a sectional is convenient and will prevent you or your guests hitting the corners of a square coffee table.

Consider a square or round ottoman with storage and a lid that is reversible to a table or, more accurately, with a firm table insert surrounded by the leather or fabric or vinyl of the ottoman.

You could repurpose your current coffee table as an end table with a new, tall lamp placed where the floor lamp is located.

If you move your sofa a bit away from the window wall, you'd have room to put your floor lamp in the corner to back light the sectional and you'd have room to put a larger lamp shade on the lamp on the barrel -- match the three lampshades and don't worry about matching the lamps. If you want the floor lamp taller because it's behind the sofa, you could do that and no one would ever see the stool or block on which it is sitting or you could repurpose the floor lamp to a dark corner of a bedroom.

Very much LIKE the barrel as table; unusual idea, well done. Great floors. Truly lovely and inviting corner.

Note: I found a really nice tall lamp at a nearby Habitat for Humanity Restore Store for $3 plus the cost of a larger lampshade that I preferred.

The tufts say "formal" room and this is a casual room and sofa. The barrel says "bar" so I'd convert it to a bar and move it away form the sofa. It is too tall to work as a side table since they should reach within 1" of the sofa's arm to be convenient for placing items like cups, glasses, books, etc. I like the way the right end of your rug slips under the front 1/3 of that side of the sectional, but it should be large enough so that the other side slips under the front 1/3 of the other sofa portion. The rug should extend at least a foot or so past the two ends of the sofa for a truly grounded and custom fitted look.

I like the over-sized barrel. It adds whimsy and personality. I also like the tufted ottoman. But the barrel and tufted ottoman can not co-exist in the same room. I'd stick with the barrel and ditch the ottoman cuz it reads too formal for the space. And the scale is wrong.

do not like the tufted ottoman. It looks too heavy? Love the open work or the rattan for my vote. Also glass and wrought iron would be pretty great. Try Pier 1 Imports; they do have interesting things!

The tufted ottoman is nice, however, it does not work with the current furniture. Sorry, but the barrel can be rolled into another space.
