Yes, remove the shades and get pretty drapery panels. It will add warmth and might help with noise.

Not sure why Kelly Green color for drapes would be under consideration.

I think simple panels would be a great idea to compliment your roller shades. I recommend spending more of your money on the hardware due to the large expanse you are covering. I would choose something large in diameter and metal with some nice finials. I would also recommend a narrow, simple pattern panel on either side of the wall. Be careful not to cover up too much of you narrower outside windows (maybe no more than 1/3 of them). Take the panel to within 6-8" of your adjacent walls. That would be a dynamite look!

I think the shades are too dark and solid in color. In the dining room, I would do Roman shades in a fabric with a light background and a pattern with color since there is not enough room for drapes. In the living room I would do one drapery panel on either side of the windows in a fabric with a light background and a pattern in color that coordinates with the new dining room Roman shades.

I think panels would look great. A neutral color with a pattern would add some interest to the room without overwhelming the space.
