I don't know about solar for inside but you can get battery powered LED lamps

How do you recharge a 'solar lamp" without putting it outside in the sun? Even outdoor solar lights have a hard time storing enough power to be bright enough to be on for 8 hours.

Our lamps run off a rechargeable lithium battery pack and LED bulb so they can go anywhere;)

My husband and I have decided not to ever use solar lights outside because they generally are very dim and emit a very blue light because of the LED. I know they make warmer bulbs these days but they still don't provide as much light as incandescent. In a room where there may be reading, you need enough light to be able to see.
