Living room design and stuck

We are re-doing the living room layout and I would really like to add some new pictures...but am wondering if I am stuck with the French country-ish pictures I started. We do live on 5 acres and raise various animals, so the new ones at least tie into our area.

Here is one of the whimsical prints I love, but would they be too out of place? There are other similar ones and they would go in the blue painter's tape area.

Also want to add an ottoman for couch:

Any other ideas??

I love the whimsical picture you posted, but I don't think you should add pictures in the blue tape areas. I think to add any more, you need to remove what you have. I love the ottoman as well, although I can't see your couch from the pics. It is small - perhaps you would need two?

The right side of the couch reclines...so just an ottoman for the center.

That makes sense then. Where are the red chairs and fireplace in relation to the couch/tv area?

Remove the pony wall (1/2 wall) behind the couch. It unnecessarily breaks up the flow of the room. Art is subjective, if you love it, that is what matters. Here is the link to a great pice that HOuzz did about choosing art and displaying it.

The couch area is to the left of the slider and 1/2 wall; the chairs are to the right of the slider and 1/2 wall. We separated the area into 2 because (1) there was a post in the middle of the room and (2) the slider made it like there was a walkway right smack dab in the center of the area. So, with the "living room" partitioned off with a 1/2 ht wall....it almost looks like it was part of a planned design.

I figured it out - facing the bookshelf area. I was wondering if you had tried the chairs facing the fireplace, but there may not be room with the entrance to the couch area.

Haha...about the wall...we just installed it! I love it and hated the prior layout. :)

Funny, how people have such different tastes, huh. I love the whimsical art. Just not sure if by the TV is best, though.

I can't tell what the pair is of. How about the animals under that pair? Just try it.

The pair of pictures btwn the slider and window? They are a scene in Venice...watercolor painting (print).

The chest in between the red chairs would look better to one side, maybe under your tape squares, then place one of the smaller tables between the chairs. Just try it, okay?
