Cubby for teenager room

HI, this was suppose to be eaves storage in my 16 year olds room...we don't need it for that. He wants to put beanbag, plug, and light for little study cubby. I am defiantly not going to put the door on but do you think I should take down the framing and open it up?? or close it up as framed in pic....?
