Where are you? That probably would have a bearing on some advice.

Southwestern Ontario, Canada. So the most southern area of Canada. Usually gets to around -10 to -20C during the Winter. It's around 10 to 15C right now and getting cooler. Summers are usually around 25 to 35C and very humid.

They are not cedars - they are arborvitae, Thuja occidentalis, which sometimes go by the misleading common name of white cedar. Very common hedging conifer and it looks like their spacing is pretty much dead on. They look perfectly healthy and there is really nothing more you have to do with them, other than perhaps some wrapping with twine in winter to prevent splaying from snow loads.

a pic will confirm ... but most likely they were planted as a screen ... intended to grow together ...

they are a monoculture ... and that can be problematic ... but arbs are rather resistant to problems.. where they might all go down.. in a decade or two ..

when they get large.. say over 10 feet.. snowload and ice can be poblematic ...

any of this can be discussed int eh conifer or tree forums ... as conifers are also trees ...

one thing for sure.. they will NEVER need fert ... and if well established... never need water ... frankly ... they should be carefree ....
