3 questions for you. 1) What part of the country do you live in? 2) Are you planning to "dry-stack" or will you have mortar joints? 3) Do you want the stone to look the same in 5 years? 10 years? etc?

If you're looking for a long-term application, then we'd suggest only using natural stone, and not pre-cast products like El Dorado or Best Stoneworks are. These products are just concrete with coloring agents used to mimic stone. Over time, they tend to fade and fail. Only Natural Stone (with proper installation) will stand the test of time. I'd also recommend for around your foundation using full thickness 4" veneer as opposed to a thin veneer. The best place to call in your area would be Rolling Rock Building Stone in Boyertown, PA.
