We need to hang a light fixture in the middle of a bedroom with 9 foot ceiling height. The fixture would ideally be between 20 - 24 inches in diameter. There are very few semi-flush fixtures that big, so we are looking at the possibility of modifying a chandelier that uses a rod instead of a chain. We think we could use the proper hack saw blade and cut the rod to the length we need. Has anyone else done this and do you have any hints or advise? We haven't bought the fixture yet. Thank you.
