In my top floor bath 10' x5', I am looking into replacing the tiles on the shower/tub (30x60) alcove which has a soffit titled using 4x4 square white tiles.

The rest of the walls are painted in a blue color which I like.

I came across this particular backsplash:

In terms of design of the alcove, I plan to do a variation of the tile design of this shower wall:

to add the blacksplash (2in) as a frame to the alcove and add a strip or two (one at the top) of bathtub/shower wall

Currently thinking about adding oversized gray/white subway tiles 6x12? 8x24?

Does anyone have suggestions of a backsplash that matches the molten-glass-steel in a brick layout format? Or would the existing backsplash work?

I currently have beige 8x8 floor tiles and thinking about replacing it with 12x24 white flint porcelain tiles by Happy floors.

The contractor who inspected my bathroom mentioned that the water barrier didn't appear to be installed correctly.

Would I need to replace my bathtub? It says American standard and I think it is set with Americast. The bathtub was here when I moved into my townhouse over 12 years ago.
