In our renovated classic kitchen we went with RH knobs and bin pulls (brushed nickel in our case) partly for uniformity of finish and partly because it was so easy to try them out and return them if needed.

Amerock makes a bin pull, doesn't it? I'll check and get back to you.

Yep, as I thought, Amerock makes a cup style bin pull in polished chrome. Finish should match.

Thanks, our cabinets are small, Shaker style, and I thought a bit smaller knobs looked good. Do you always use 1 1/4"? I found some Amerock knobs that were 1/16" smaller, but these arrived and looked more like polished nickel than the cleaner, icy look of polished chrome.

We used the RH Aubrey 1 1/4" also with Shaker style cabinets. They don't feel large to me, but we have both large and small cabinets.

Gorgeous! Are those 4" Gilmore pulls on the drawers? We originally had a big microwave over our slide-in range and had planned to do another. Then once it came out, I really liked the more open look, and we decided to use a small re-circulating hood (with lights) instead. Our cabinets, backsplash, small Ann Sacks subway tile and appliances are going to be all white, but we were thinking of doing a small, simple stainless hood. Seeing your photo, I wonder if we should switch to a stainless range, keeping the fridge and dishwasher in white.

Can you tell me the make of the hood? Is it ductless?

I'll attach a couple of "before" images of the existing space (range area); in one, the cupboard doors and drawers have been taken away to be refinished and nothing else has gone in yet. Work starts in earnest on Monday.

Yes, those are the 4" Gilmore bin pulls from RH. All our hardware is in brushed nickel because it seemed to look best with the brushed SS on our range and our fridge. The hood is a low profile model made by Broan. Ours isn't re-circulating, though it can be modified that way if needed.

BTW, I would recommend going all stainless with the appliances if that is in the budget. I think it makes a really nice accent against the white cabinets. You have to be a little careful with the shade of white you choose for the cabinet color if you use stark white appliances. But if you get the colors right, white on white can look great too.

Thanks for your helpful comments. I will look at range hoods as soon as the roads are passable. Our home is an 1890s Victorian and the kitchen has original wainscoting, transom windows and bulls eye trim on doors and windows, so we're going for a simple, vintage look. Countertops will be a marble-like quartz, and we are working hard to match/blend cabinet and trim paint to the white of the fridge and range. Probably using "Chantilly Lace" (BM) with walls a soft but strong gray color. A work in progress!
