Appliance lift

Hi! I've been a lurker for the past few months and now find myself in the middle of my kitchen Reno. The electric is being roughed in tomorrow and my questions is: in the cabinet that will house my appliance lift/kitchen aid mixer, do I need to have an electrical outlet? Or do you lift the appliance and then plug it in. Any advice appreciated.

I compulsively unplug my small appliances. If you don't normally do that, then I would put the plug in a location where the mixer can be plugged in at all times. A lot of countertop appliances have very short cords. Be sure to measure the cord on the appliance to make sure that its cord will reach the new outlet when the lift is fully extended.

I planned mine without the plug inside because I thought it might be complicated and costly but since the lift cabinet is part of the peninsula which has a plug at the end, the electrician said it's simple and did it for me for free! I normally unplug my small appliances and I can easily unplug this one inside if I want to. So far loving it!

Appreciate your posting this since it hadn't even occurred to me - duh! Must go talk to electrician.
