Is watering required for these plants? If so, sprinkler or drip system? beautiful plants. Would these plants work for a garden in south Texas?
thanks!

    Hi there,

Water is required at some point for almost all plants in a cultivated garden. This is definitely a low water garden, and is watered every 3-4 weeks by drip irrigation. These are coastal species from Mediterranean origins that are used to mild temperatures, and low humidity of coastal california. A few of these plants could go months without irrigation and be fine, as they are semi-mature being in the ground for 5 years. These plants will take a light frost, and are best in a temp range of 70-90 degrees. So if your 100 degrees in summer and freeze hard in the winter these aren't good candidates for your garden. A great website for your area is called Yuccado.com, they feature many heat tolerant and very hardy natives from xeric areas and beyond. Good luck on your hunt!
