Ghost Room

Is everyone on vacation? Working? At the Sauna? Fallen into your washer?

There have only been a few of us posting since early last night. Just making sure all my friends and my little chicks are all ok...I'm about to post an answer to Leon, and I did not want to have to do this, you will see why..lmao... (ducks and runs)

Irish Congratulations on your retirement. I did 2 years ago and I am bored! But health won't let me work.

Yeah Pink, don't know what the deal was with the sheets. That's the way I always did them. Oh well that the way the bubble burst..

French Toast and Sausage for supper here. I love the Autumn, it's so invigorating to me-cooler temperatures and the color on the leaves. I bet the kids pear tree leaves are pretty! Be careful about extending a Thanksgiving invite!! I just might show up! Funny about what you said about kids. My mom has a wicked sense of humor so when we 3 kids ask her which of us is her favorite she just says, "I dislike all of you equally!"

Thank you mamapinky & beagle! I am taking some me time before jumping into volunteer work etc. I joined a knitting group 2 yrs ago "Happy Hookers" and yesterday was our 2nd annual road trip! Had a nice lunch on the water in Mystic Ct. ...Also belong to a senior yoga group and now the "girls" want me to join them for senior aerobics lol...husband is younger so he still has a few more years to work. Love to travel ...have been to Lancaster, PA & Hershey...pretty country!! Traveling up north to NH for the weekend for shopping & leaf peeping....now instead of wanting to shop for handbags & shoes I'm on the lookout for "old detergents" :D

The laundry room will be cleaned but not the laundry. Been busy cleaning every nook and cranny inside and out...high school friend is coming over for lunch Thursday.

I am a clean freak but amazing how refrigerator shelves, baseboards, book shelves, etc. have been neglected in the normal cleaning.

I'm here. Lots of washing machines down there.

No, I didn't get your messages. But you might have some surprise visitors this spring, put the coffee on!

Mama - I do mostly custom orders these days so I blend to order :). Xtra bubbles, cleansing, conditioning, whatever they want. Today's batches were Honey oatmeal and orange - extra moisturizing and a batch for someone with a coconut allergy - exfoliating lots of bubbles very cleansing and finally pumpkin lavender - hemp based for rosacea. Amazing what can be done with a bar of soap :)

I also do a lot of lotions and potions. Also to order. Keeps me busy since I quit working to stay home with the kids while husband travels.

As far as living in Ohio goes, I like it here. But it's also fun to make some weekend travel plans.

Larsi, I'm sorry..I didn't get a message from you, my messages isn't working so great maybe because I'm using a phone..when I type the message it won't send lolbut I'm glad your ok.

Larsi..I found your message..I can answer here, with Amiees permission...she has Parkes-Weber Syndrome, its a vascular anomoly...from just about the waist down her capillaries are missing or malformed...the capillaries are little road ways that take the blood slowely from the arteries to the veins, with hers missing the blood has shunted directly from the arteries to the veins causing a fast flow of blood, which means her heart must beat faster to keep up with the blood flow, this condition has a lot of variables..I just tell you how it affects Amiee....she has vascular malformations in her legs, feet, buttocks, pelvic area, their in her colin, uterus, bladder (inside and out) they are wrapped around both sides and front of her lower spine, which are the most problematic. These malformations look like someone opened her up and threw spaghitti noodles in her. Because of the excess blood vessels at the surface of the skin she's a bleeder.she's also very high risk for clots, its like a double edged sword she could clot or bleed out, this has put excess work on her heart when even at rest rarely goes below 150 beats per minute. She suffers horriable pain and fatique..she can currently walk about 7 minutes at a time before she needs her chair. Her legs swell up huge expecially if she's sat with her legs hanging down too long, she stands on feet that are full of varicose veins, she pees and poops blood off and on, she can't maintain weight she's now at 86 pounds but will drop back down to around 80 even though she's inactive and is a tremendous eater. This is just a peek into how this affects her..we've been told at Boston Childrens hospital to love her and never take a day with her for granted..eventually Amiee will go into cardiac failure, but the doctors think she will rupture an internal arterie...Amiee is also brilliant, straight A student during her school years, she's kind, loving, funny..she's the bravest person I will ever know and she always smiles, unless the door is closed. She has never riden a bike or been a cheerleader but she can make even the saddest person smile, Amiee is the best, there's never been anyone in my life that I look up to as I do Amiee, she's my daughter and my hero. And if she stays in this forum long enough you will all love her, she's just so very good. If you look her condition up you will probably get info on klippel trenaunay or Sturge weber..neither of which is what Amiee has..she given me permission to show you a bit of her skin..its not a birth mark..its actuall called a blush with this condition.

As a parent, the tears rolled down my eyes whilst reading your post about Aimee's condition. Naturally, there is nothing anyone can say or do. It is very obvious what amazing, loving, funny, caring, genuine and beautiful people you BOTH are! How lucky all of us are to have gotten to know you, and we will all get to know Aimee for a LONG time!!! Thank you MamaP, and Aimee for sharing with us!!

While my heart feels heavy, and saddened by reading about what poor Aimee must deal with, as a parent the weight is heavier. I am giving you both ENORMOUS hugs and kisses, from CA to PA :)

I think we should all worship Aimee, as she is a damn hero!!!!! XOXO

I'm around. I've been popping in here and there to read but not post much. Havnt had time as I've had two of my kiddos with medical issues. One has a bad tooth that needs to be extracted and the other just fell and banged his head up real good. So I've been to both the dentist and ER. Aimee is an angel. My heart goes out to her. I can relate to your emotional pain, mama. Both of my youngest have autism. They are the two happiest kiddos though.

THank you Cathy, and Thank you all...we take it each day at a time, and truthfully we don't dwell on the future..its today we love. We never second guess the what if's...its so much better this way..sure we know what can happen and probably will...but its always today that counts, not the when. I learned a long time ago there's a certin amount of peace in denial.

I just felt it was time to clear the air here since I'd made remarks about her condition..now don't any of you be sad..she's having a good day and even started a load of laundry. .lol..she took forever deciding on what detergent to use but in the end with no coaching from me chose old school scent Tide with Bleach. It was white Towels she was washing. Lol

Bea, Thank You, your heartfelt words mean a lot, its so nice to have friends that care. I've had no choice but to accept her medical condition, I think I once told youns, I was in delivery when Amiee was born, she was black from waist down and at the time we didn't know what was wrong, we just knew she was the most perfect and beautiful little Angel ever born, her parents, knowing my love for this child, and knowing I would love and care for her, signed adoption papers, ( I never seen this comming until after Amiees birth) took a plane out 3 days later and have never returned. You all learn something new everyday don't you lol...Amiee was in fact born to my Step son and his girlfriend, so she would have been my Step grandaughter...instead she became my daughter....I chose Amiee and her medical condition, I have no regrets, I thank God everyday that these young birth parents knew what was best for Amiee and didn't hesitate, so I went into this with my eyes wide open, I guess I could have walked away the day they placed her in my arms and cried and begged me to be her mother, but I already loved this baby I never even thought about not accepting this tremendous gift...Amiee and everything that came with her.....yep Eyes and Heart wide open.

Mami, how are the kids today? How's the tooth and the head? You've had your hands full haven't you..I hope the two little ones are feeling better, the head injury, is it healing? Was it a minor boo boo? Let me know how you and the kids are doing today, youns are in my prayers.

Hey MP-I popped in this morning before I start laundry and cleaning and errands and such. Everyone"s @ work/school and Mami is home having Bustelo (cuban) coffee by myself and it's lovely. LOL. My lil guy fell this past Sunday and got a nice goose egg, but the reason I took him to the ER is because there was blood in his right ear on Monday in the same side of the head that he banged it. Sometimes head injuries can be worse than we realize and blood in the ear is a big red flag that something is wrong, so my husband and I carted him off to the pediatric ER. He has sensory processing disorder along w his autism (the 2 tend to happen together), so he is very sensitive to light, sound, touch, even food textures. He hates doctors and hospitals so taking him in anywhere is no easy feat. I have to have at least one other strong adult to help me restrain him so the doc can exam. Turns out he has a cut or scratch in the ear canal causing the bleeding (he must have scratched it), so not related to the head bump! thankfully!

As far as my little babygirl, she had to do a round of antibiotics as an infection had formed around the cavity, so todays the last day for those, then we schedule the extraction which has to be done under sedation because she will not co-operate or hold still. She has the spd as well. So YES--I do have my hands full always, but thanks for asking about me, it makes me feel good. A mother's work is never done! I know that saying is so true now as a mom to 3!

miami - I have an autistic nephew with many sensory triggers. It takes a village truly. The days I help out to give them a break are some of my hardest emotionally. I often think I wouldn't have the endurance.

Mama - Doesn't matter how a child enters your life. She was meant to be yours. Adopted or born to are just details that never mean a thing.

It really puts my busy days in perspective. Thank you both for letting us all in. As a mom, my hat's off to both of you :).

I had to go back to work this week. My job is very demanding and gives little free time for fun with all of you on this site. But I still check in when every I can.

Mamma, I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. I have never heard of this condition and am very saddened that this has happened to her and your family. Amiee sounds like a truly wonderful person and a little angel. You couldn't have asked for better. I know she is truly loved and well taken care of by you, and you are doing everything you possibly can to make her happy and feel totally loved and completely cherished.

    mamapinky0 thanked tideman_59

Thank you Tide, yes its amoung my biggest goals, make darned sure Amiee is well cared for.

Also no wonder you haven't heard of this condition, its extremely rare, most doctors have never heard of this or treated it..so its a never ending battle of me educating mostly er doctors what they can and can't do lol.

That's the best thing that you could possibly do-- stay well informed. Being in healthcare myself, I know. Just because someone has "MD" after their name does not mean that they are good doctors or know everything. As I always tell everyone -- you are the best advocate for you and your family's health care.
