There is no "must"! There is no "all bathrooms"! There is only your own taste!

This seems like a perfectly nice bathroom in need of just a few tweaks (like the new toilet). You might want to lighten up the walls a bit, though, just to make the room feel a little larger...

I would just lighten up the walls, floors and shower curtain like the others suggested. Make it eclectic and awesome. Does not have to be white, as long as you like the beige. Susan

We replaced 3 of our beige toilets to the new low flush one piece. Beige again to match our sinks, the colored ones are special order and are more money, this may not be all places but was the case where we were dealing with.

The marble looks lovely in your bathroom. You can consider reglazing your tub and sink to white or off-white if they are in good condition. In the photo, the marble looks like it has a creamy finish? Then consider changing out the toilet to match. I don't mind the wallpaper. It looks pretty. Try changing out the shower curtain to off-white (pull the colour from your wall paper) with a tone on tone pattern in a nice weight/ fabric and that alone can make a big difference. Also off white towels and keep accessories light.

I'd go lighter in the things more easily changed, like the cabinet, walls, shower curtain. A new toilet in beige or cream would look good.

I'm sorry the toilets Color is Bisque they matched our sinks & tub that we had installed 23 years ago. They are one piece which I wanted easier to clean and are higher than the old ones we had plus low flush. We had them for three years now and never a issue. They were about 600.00 each for special order.
