After posting in a thread, cursor moves up to previous posts

Something I've noticed today on GW. When posting a reply, I hit "Post" and instead of the screen remaining on the post itself, it repositions itself about half-way through the thread. It means I have to reposition my cursor to the bottom of the page and do a final read through for edits. Not the end of the world, but very different behavior from previously.

mayflowers, even when you scroll to the bottom of the thread?

Edited: I think you must have found your post. :)

Just happened to me, too. And even more weirdly, the newest posts that I was responding to had been moved up to be between older posts. But they were also at the bottom of the thread. Very weird. Gotta be a software glitch.

lisa, yes! I just came back to say that a post I just made in another thread appeared in the middle of some September posts until I hit the Refresh button.

Also, more Houzz photos at the bottom of each thread, so that when you hit End or another way to go to the bottom, you have to scroll up past the photos.

After I posted, previous posts in this thread duplicated. Post ages read as 22 minutes ago, 4 minutes ago, 24 minutes ago, and 5 minutes ago. It's like GW is a record that is skipping. Guess we need to give GW a thump on the side. =)

I noticed that. Ugh, don't like that at all. Leave them on the side, houzz, but don't mess with our threads!

Now I'm wondering if the problem is because they added photos at the bottom of threads. Otherwise, it's rather coincidental that both things happened at the same time.

    I definitely think it's related.

Just posted and same thing happened here. Good thought lisa. I bet you are right. Houzz needs to work that out........Maryl

My last post brought me back to an older posts of mine in the same thread. I'm not sure if it only returns to my old posts. Maybe it just likes my posts.

    That must have been random.

I WANT THOSE HOUZZ PICTURES OUT OF HERE! Yea, I know I'm yelling. Those houzz pictures may drive me out of here.

I was posting on the Kitchen Table and when I hit submit the whole thread was duplicated and then my response was at the end. And posting here, this happened yesterday as well, I hit submit and I wind up halfway up the thread. All very bizarre.

It may not seem like it to you and it will self-correct - but when I hit submit the whole thread duplicated and then my post is at the end. And when I hit submit now, the same thing will happen.

What is interesting is that, as the the OP, I'm getting email notifications when you guys post. So special. When I click on the link in my email I go to the last post (in this case blfenton's) and there are no freaking HOUZZ pictures there.

Edited to add: However, when I save the post and then return via my normal GW menu link, the dastardly photos are there.

Do y'all think that the GW people will find this thread and go, oops! and fix it? Or does it have to be addressed to them in the thread title or sent as an email?

I've been over there a couple of times but have no desire to read a thread that has 12 million comments (maybe a slight exaggeration) because my attention span isn't long enough.

I know there are new photos down there but I have no idea what they're about. I just don't look at that stuff.

Linelle, you can turn off post notifications even though it's your thread. I think. I'll go double check.

Yes, it's the "someone comments on my post" box, which can be changed to once an hour or never.

Yup. Doing that to me, too.

Mayflowers, I know. It does sound like a complaint, which it wasn't meant to be. Just noting that when I click on the link to the thread from the emails I'm sent, it shows the entire thread without all those Houzz photos at the bottom. Which is a good thing, but not what you guys are seeing. When I go into a thread the normal way, they're back.

Linelle- I just checked and it is the same for me.

When I navigate here using my browser and the address bar says gardenweb, I have all the Houzz pics at the bottom.

When I click the link in an email which says "see comment" it takes me to the discussion with no Houzz images but my address bar says houzz.

My guess is they are trying to get everyone to stop typing/using saved ths.gardenweb addresses and navigate solely through Houzz addresses.

Texas_Gem - your post reminded me of the quote "Out, damned spot! Out, I say!"

oh goodness. I 'spect I'm looking at houzz pics and thinking it's an inspiration pic someone posted.

I did attempt to post the other day but it wouldn't let me submit it. I clicked on submit and nothing happened. After a few tries I gave up, went back to p1 and just read some others threads...

Hmm, I notice that only through my phone which I think directs to Houzz directly? I do still have "shop Houzz" stuff at the bottom though.

On my computer I am still using my old GW link which directs me here but the address bar says: ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/3458514/after-posting-in-a-thread-cursor...

After reading this Linelle I am definitely keeping my old GW back door entry - I have both kitchens and building a home bookmarked that way. I don't need to see all that stuff. When I come here it's because I want to be HERE browsing GW discussions not houzz pics.
