Btw, this is the reason that deciduous trees often do not do well in Southern California. Winter and Fall is when the rain and mild temperatures come, the most productive time to grow, but by that time deciduous trees have lost all their leaves.

My stella cherry didn't do well this year. Now they are blooming with tons of flowers. Not sure I have enough chill hours for them ( fuji apple and cherry).

That's what I thought. If it did not do well this year, that would explain why it is blooming so late into the season. Cherries take two months to ripen from the time the blossoms appear, so you better hope for warm weather for the next two months.

Stella can deal with low chill in Southern California, there will just be some years where it will not produce any fruit. Also keep in mind if your cherry tree is not 5 years old yet you may have to wait a few more years until you get any fruit. Temecula may get hot but at least it's far enough inland to be able to get a little chill in the winter, more than the coast.

Fuji apple may not have been the best choice, will not produce the most reliably with the number of chill hours you get.

i bought a starfruit as a 3 gallon plant a bit over a year ago

i put it in a greenhouse last year. there was a fruit on it ripening during winter.- i had put it in the ground in spring, and it put out a LOT of growth all summer. i didnt see it flower, but wasnt really worried since it was growing so fast. a week ago it started putting out a ton of flowers, now i have 6 small starfruit. i am hoping this cycle changes, i dont think they will ripen before first frost. (New Orleans)

i have about 10 mango seedlings. ALL of them are flushing new growth right now.... passiflora edulis just flowered for the first time.

I have a mulberry that is just starting to produce fruit. - (its been grown from a cutting someone gave me, i dont know the variety - only had it less than a year)

Are there any mulberry that fruit in November ?

My big mulberry (rubra) normally looses all its leaves in October after the first cool spell... 2 weeks ago it started to, but, only lost about 1/3 of them, and now its putting out new growth.

I have pepper plants taking off and producing far more fruit than they ever produced in spring or summer...

It's not normal for deciduous trees....if the fall is hot some can bloom, but just few flowers....normally the shouldn't !!

Other as Loquat or Strawberry trees start flowering in Fall-Winter....
