Helping out my spouse here to narrow down what she is attempting to achieve in our total kitchen remodel. As she stated, we have purchased white cabinets to be installed and have a smaller to mid kitchen where we have opened up the dining room wall to give our kitchen/dining room area more of an open feel. Where the wall between the dining room and kitchen is we have added lower cabinets and counter top that will have room for 3 bar stools that set on the dining room area of counter. Now that I have explained that, our appliance colors are black frig., silver dishwasher, and a black and silver stove and overhead microwave. She readily admits that she is not very interior decorating savvy and is become overwhelmed in attempting to choose a granite counter top and wall color for the open kitchen/dining room. Has narrowed her flooring to a darker wood shade vinyl plank with some black wood grain running through it. She is torn between a dark(black with possible white, gray, brown or muted colors running through it or a more neutral grayish color)counter top. Has talked of gray walls, but keeps tossing around a possible green for the warmth. Not sure if we know what style we are trying to establish throughout the house or in the kitchen for that matter. Lol. The home is a 1950 brick cape cod. She has stated frequently that she loves the cottage look theme and likes traditional, too. Hope this helps in giving her suggestions and does not boggle her mind more. Have to admit a lot of tough decisions and I prefer to leave it up to her as I do not want to sway her wrongly and down the road get blamed if she grows tired of one of the permanent choices, i.e., flooring, counter top. :) also any suggestions on the back splash subway? color
