Everything is possible and I'm sure it's been done before many of times and if someone has the pictures it would look like a laminated wood floor... just follow manufacturer's installation instructions.

Sure it's possible. What you need to do is to find a material you want to use and follow the manufacture's recommendations on what you need to do to prep the floor.

Adding a new layer of finished floor no matter what the application can cause problems at height of doors and appliances sometimes so you need to think about that.

Also the flatness of a floor is critical to many types of laminate/wood floating floors to prevent premature failure.

When in doubt consult an experienced local flooring contractor.

You will likely run into problems if you do this. Your floor heights will be higher and you will likely have to cut down any doors that the tile might run under. It will also limit the type of flooring you use as well. You won't be able to use a nail down hardwood and if the floor has to be leveled at all (I'm not saying it will because the tile should be on a level floor) the tile is not a good base for any self leveling compound. You will also have to cut down any of the kick plates under your kitchen cabinets or millwork if the tile currently meets these areas, if you want it to have a nice finish. I'm not saying that you absolutely can't do it but it isn't common practice. If it were my home, I would remove the tile before laying any new type of flooring. If you do choose to lay the hardwood over top, I would be curious to know how it turns out.
