Please help with this room!

Want to redo this space, but have no idea where to begin! Is open concept with the kitchen being redone with white cabinets. Considering off white sofa-- something warm and comfortable feeling, not formal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pudge, you first post on the space was 11/13 followed by four more posts. What changes have you made?

I see a lot of things I like in your room. What I would change first is the fireplace. I would remove both pictures and put one tall rectangular picture propped on the left side. I would turn the mirror so that it is vertical and I would replace the coffee table. Then add the white sofa and possibly change the curtains.

Yes want to change drapes as one of the first things, but trying to decide on color. What would you do with tv?

I would hang the tv on the wall next to the curtains. Get rid of the tv stand. Put it on an arm that can move so that when it is in use its in the same position its in now and when you arent using it, its against the wall next to the curtains.

I would paint ceiling off white & walls the same. I remember this post.

You still need white appliances replace or repaint. It fights with your trim.

The lantern is nice. The clock could go over fp.

Would you put anything under the tv or just leave the corner empty?

I will try the clock over fireplace and see how it looks-- thank you

The room looks crowded. For the TV, I would put it on a stand(buy another one), on the wall that has the mirror and the 2 chairs around it. In this way, the fireplace is on one side of the room and the TV on the other.

The TV should not be on the wall, but on a stand.

Have you tried sofa on long wall where the overstuff chair and second chair are then a chair to the right of fireplace with tv in corner. U may have to rid yourself of one chair. I do not favor a tv on the wall. A cabinet for the tv would be nice. You may want to run sofa in front of window with a sofa table behind it and tv where sofa was and put two chairs, one each on side of fireplace. Rid yourself of the curtains for now, remove all wall hangings and small stuff, once you have furniture where you want it than bring in decorative pieces. Good luck!

Dear miacometlady, yes it has been a two year standstill as family member was diagnosed with cancer and after a long hard two year battle passed away a few months ago. I thought that perhaps jumping into this project again would be helpful. I guess I have to admit that I can't remember previous suggestions.
Did not realize there was a timeframe for asking for help or suggestions.
