I purchased 2 "luxury line" kitchens, a laundry room and a bath vanity from Tedd Wood - circa $50,000. luxury line - HA, garbage is more like it.

To say i am disappointed is understatement. I was promised 3/4" cabinets. For the main kitchen, the cabinet sides and bottom are 3/4" plywood, the backs, however, are 1/4" luan.

For our secondary kitchen, the boxes were 1/2" plywood all the way around. Tedd offered no explanation or excuse for either variation from my order specifications.

On the visible edges of cabinet box plywood, Tedd uses "banding" to cover the ply rather than real wood. This banding is merely a paper thin veneer. The banding cracks, chips and flakes if you touch it. Around the wine cabinet, the banding is already chipped off. Luckily, we had to replace the speed oven cabinet because Tedd made it the wrong size. That said, after 2 weeks use, the speed oven door had knocked the banding off the plywood edges. On the new cabinet, we had the desiner replace the plywood box with real wood; she used an aftermarket cabinet maker to fix Tedd's "handiwork".

The Tedd Wood drawer slides are undersized for the weight of the drawers, let alone if you use them as intended. For the dish drawers, Tedd agreed to replace the undersized glides. We were stuck with undersized glides for the rest of the drawers.

On the visible ends of the cabinets, we had to have wood plates made to cover the plywood. Tedd had left the ends as just plywood. While the ends now look better, adding 3/4" to each cabinet threw off all of the design for the counter tops, doorway trims, etc.

Tedd customer service is a horror. The rep came to my house and immediately told me to go to the company website to read the warranty. If i need to read the warranty on the website, why did he show up at my house? I asked the rep to leave my home because he was so obtuse and disregarding of the obvious product defects.

Tedd Wood - looks real good until you use the cabinets, then they fall apart.

Stay away. Far, far away!
