It depends on whether you like contrast or not. If you're happy with the way the pale blue looks against the teal/blue, then it's fine. When we moved into this house last year all the walls were painted beige. Our sofa and love seat are beige, the floors are light oak. I like contrast, and I was drowning in a sea of beige. We have since painted the walls BM Revere Pewter which I hated at first but it's ..... ok now. But I personally didn't like the beige against the beige, I like the contrast.

The wall and couch would not be together actually. Couch would stand again white wall. Other color thought for couch is gray for practicality (we have a gray cat too), and it'll stand out more against white wall. But blue couch would (in my head at least) balance out nice against teal wall. ...

may be it would have been like on of those "socks can't be same color as shirt" sort of thing. :)
