I'm stuck on what to do with the seat that runs along two of the knee walls. I am going to take out the carpet that is on the floor and bench. I'm also going to widen the steps going down into the pit to 60"opening. What would you do to the floor and setting bench in the pit? The rest of the house is a tan 18" tile. Should I do wood on the floor or tile? The hearth is Mexican clay tile ( Saltillo ?) should I do the bench seating in that? I'm lost on what to do.
