IDK what kind of scraper you mean. Cabinet scraper? Scraper plane? I like the flexible cabinet scrapers; they make some that are awfully rigid.

It's all in the sharpening. A cabinet scraper is extremely useful in woodworking. I was using mine today to take router marks out of the edges of some boards I contoured by pattern-routing. They are great for erasing planer marks and will strip shellac faster than any chemical.

I think scraping would be more effective on a few projects I've got. Sanding is one thing, but I keep reading about scrapers and think I'd like to give them a try.

I just don't know the difference in those scrapers, with those numbers. They look alike to me.

That's a spokeshave, meant for roughly shaping certain wood components. That has nothing to do with scraping, sorry CE.

What's the difference between all those spokeshave numbers? If I were to decide today I wanted to spokeshave something, (which looks a lot like scraping to me) what would I choose for which purpose?
