We are getting ready to finalize our kitchen layout but making some tweaks and need input from you all. THANK YOU

See layout attached. When you are looking at it, the freezer/fridge combo will be on left wall and oven on window wall with sink in island.

For best functionality, what is the best distance from:

I think that the angled thing is a big pantry. Which might or might not be the right way to go, but does seem fun. Overall looks ok from here.

Oops I think you're right. I was reading the fridge area as cabinetry! Pantries are great :)

Thank you- oh actually that is a pantry with the angled door, the fridge/feezer is next to it where we have the 24" cabinets back to back - we have tweaked this plan multiple times and searched and searched for the right freezer/fridge that wasn't thousands and thousands...this will look like a built in but it's not. Ok good to know that we should be good with those dimensions! Is there any reason to make it larger?

Do you think we should not have angle on pantry @acm? We are open to suggestions- just trying to maximize every inch- we don't have a basement that's why I wanted the full freezer/fridge

Is there a door on the pantry? If so, it doesn't show. If there is, you need to think about which way it swings. Also, I don't see any shelving in the pantry. Relative to the layout, I'm wondering what you see when you're standing at the sink. That's important since you will be spending a lot of time there. I'm sure you've already thought of this, but if it were my kitchen I would consider swapping the sink and cooktop locations so that the sink could be under a window.

I do not think you should do the angled pantry. Just a regular pantry. The angle will crowd the fridge and look huge, smooshed, and unbalanced (since it has the fridge on one side). Have you seen a rendering?

as much as I like angles..I think you would be better off with a straight pantry and the fridge turned to face the sink for easier access. put a full length end panel on outer side of fridge and as much counter as there is room for next to it as a 'landing spot' for items from fridge. the end cabinets can be built extra deep to be the depth of the fridge.

    • These images provide a better visual of the whole design.
    • If we were to just do a straight pantry- what type of door would you recommend and where would the door be located? We were thinking of doing a bifold so it's less intrusive. I'm just wondering how that would work- can't see it in my head but it's late and my brain is tired. @emilyam819 @RappArchitecture
    • When you are at the island/sink you are looking into the living room :)
    • we are building the pantry, not ordering cabinets for it, so no shelving has been included in drawing.
    • the fridge/freezer is facing the island- is that what you meant @RubyRoses

any other suggestions welcome as we are getting close to placing the order for cabinets but I was planning to do a couple tweaks before we placed it.

HI -- You have a good basic plan with the correct spaces between appliances and counters . Do not have the corner pantry . Just have a full pantry cabinet to the corner with pull outs .
