I don't really have a lot of "before" photos of our powder room, except a few when it was decorated for the holidays. It is the original bathroom from when the home was built in 1976. The countertop was too low - lower than today's standards. The sink and the faucets were not color-compatable. The wall-to-wall mirror's finish had worn off in several places. The only update that the room had gotten over the years was several rounds of wall paper and new faucets.

The powder room is adjacent to the dining room and living room. You see it from the hallway as you come up the front stair case. So it needed to be a bit elegant. It also needed to work with our new overall color scheme, which no longer has any blue.

The new powder room uses the same granite as the kitchen and dining room (Typhoon Bordeaux). The cabinets were custom-made by the same guys who did the cabinets in the other rooms (Woodshaper Custom Cabinetry). All of the hardware is oil-rubbed bronze. The mirror and sconces are custom-order metal designs from Hubbardton Forge. The Wallpaper is Thibaut Pondicherry Cream. The cabinet knobs are TopKnobs TK125 (w oil rubbed bronze plate) from their Crystal Collection. The faucets are Seaport 850C from Newport Brass. The L'Etagere 3-shelf space-saver is from Bed, Bath & Beyond Online. There was a tubular skylight in the room before the remodel. We replaced the pesky standard door with a pocket door to create more space.
