Suggestions for these three columns

I have my Trim Carpenter starting today on cabinets, trim and casement, etc... and I need some suggestions for these three columns. I dont want anything to chunky, because im afraid it will block the walkway around the back of it. They are in the corner between the kitchen and great room. Dining room and e-space is behind them to the right. I was thinking something like the example shown, but worried about space behind it... More pics on my blog: http://www.froggyleggs.com/

I like the inspiration also but I'd do straight wrap instead of the angled for the top portion.

I'd pull power up there too if you can.

I like it. I agree with Mama Rachel: I'd use the angled pillars ONLY IF it echoes other elements in your house (i.e., porch pillars).

Okay great thank you!! Good point on the pillars, our exterior pillars are straight so I'll keep these straight too. And yes I think I will see if I can get power up there! Thank you all!

Actually its Donald Gardner, the Trotterville house plan, but we changed the kitchen/breakfast area into an open concept kitchen with the great room, and e-space between the kitchen and dining room. :)
