Need help for my small living room
Comments (17)Great. It's a clever idea. Just look into the technicalities before you commit yourself to expense -- i.e. how wallpaper would adhere to unfinished cedar. There is so much wallpaper to look at, from single-colour textured to wildly ornamental. (Forgive me if I don't fancy wildly ornamental for your cosy room.) PS We just had another power failure for about ten minutes. Oh, my heart .... But now it looks as though I can have a warm supper after all. Comments (2)Lifespace recommends starting with decorating one room at a time, then progressing to the next space. Have you established a decorating budget? Determine the function of the space, i.e family gathering, formal entertaining, etc. What furnishings do you currently have that will go into the space? What are the dimensions of the room and the scale of furniture for the room? Decide on those pieces you may need to purchase based on your wants versus needs. Have you thought of an idea for a room theme and color scheme? How many members will occupy the space? These are just some of the questions you will want to contemplate prior to initiating the design project. Please share your vision for this space. Comments (17)Hi moc07726, I agree that the room is smaller than your average TV/living room....but I also agree with the folks who suggested a sectional set up. It just means finding the right-scaled/sized pieces. I think that if this space will mainly be used for hubby to relax & watch TV, even just a couple if recliners (or 2 comfy lounge chairs) would work. Because of the one solid wall, I do also think that may be the best place for a TV wall. As others have suggested, take down the shelf on that wall and place a slim media console there with a TV set on it or mounted above it. The L-shaped sectional would then be placed with one sectional against the big window wall and the other against the middle wall. If you prefer, perhaps get a smaller sized sectional with chaise only....and if the length allows, another lounge chair or recliner can still be added to the space....placed next to the sectional but slightly angled. If it's a recliner, set it away from the wall to give it some room to recline. Here are some photos for ideas and inspiration....See MoreNeed help with a small living room
Comments (3)Since your room is long and thin a long sectional would be stunning and useful. 24' long would give you enough space for a 140" or so length and put either "daybed" or chaise ends on the side closest to the window or both. (I just happened upon the Del Mar sectional at ZGallerie which comes in a 140" length). That would also "nest in" your choice of coffee table or cocktail ottoman. On the end near your terrace you could put a round cafe table and two chairs in the corner or a small desk. In my living room I have an antique occasional table - about 3' wide that I use for a desk with a cool chair. No "storage" space, but comes in handy for a phone, lamp, and computer and looks great with art above it....See Moreshelleyjr
