That is quite a bit of furniture for the space. I actually like the look of the couch and love seat, but no chair or stool.

I think substituting the love seat for a chair and a half will not solve the problem. I have the following two suggestions:

1. Put the love seat where you have the chair and half and eliminate the chair and a half.

2. Where the love seat is now you can add one armchair. Does not have to be the same model as what you currently have. Try something with a different color fabric. Blue would look great.

The fact that you replace a heavy piece away with smaller scale seating will make your living room more inviting.

I would remove the armchair and ottoman. This way you have space for the Christmas tree as well

IMO your initial inclination is correct. One sofa and 2 chair 1/2. OR the other option is the sofa with two different lounge chairs. Eliminate the loveseat.

Have you thought about placing the TV over the fireplace and eliminating the wall media unit.

Sofa and chair and a half and ottoman stays. Love seat gone replace with a pair of accent color chairs. Flip chair and a half and ottoman to where loveseat is now and two chairs against window wall.

This room done in all soilds but interesting architecture to offset lack of pattern. Sofa, cocktail table, benches, pair of chairs all done in various blues for monochromatic look.

This shows classic design trend now; patterned curtains upholstered ottoman/cocktail table, small bench for seating all done in solids taken from curtain design. A winner.

I think the room would look nicer without the chair and a half. A few more different paint colors on the wall and you're done! : )

I would keep the sofa and get two more streamlined chairs. Not a matching set, no loveseat or seat and a half. Very oversized for your room.
I love all the paint on your walls! Just read a design blog on how not to pick paint colors and it looked just like your walls.
Want color did you choose? You may want to wait on painting until all of your furniture is in place as well as drapery and rugs. Paint is usually the last thing to do.

Lol on the paint. I ended up having a colorist help me on that. That paint has been on a while till the furniture came in. We will be deciding this week. I did the poster thing after that and taped posters up. Now that the furniture is here we can put posters

I actually have thought about putting a TV above the fireplace however that wall is so big and very overwhelming I wouldn't know what to do with it. We had very high vaulted ceiling's in that room two stories high. I'm glad you brought that up because it is something that I really don't like the look of when I'm standing at the top of the stairs it looks funny to me Out of place sort of speak.

Okay all worked out for tonight. I moved the pieces around. It looks better but I really don't want to cover the windows.

I also want to say the wall where the tv center is, is driving me crazy.

You can place the TV on the fireplace, or replace the media unit with a long side board and place the TV on top of the sideboard.

I actually really like that but what would you suggest doing on that wall because it's just so big it goes all the way from the fireplace to the front door

What do you do with the cable box and game box etc?

Can you do one with furniture placement and a place for the game box and tv box etc?

You didn't post a picture of this wall looking towards the front door. What do you have there now?

If you have a sideboard with some glass doors, you can use the remote through the doors. Or with solid doors you have to use some type of infrared equipment.

I took this going from the tv center to fouer area.

U can mount TV on the wall and use one of those to stand/cabinets the person above has posted or u can mount TV and use a floating TV stand to put the game system and things in

I looked at all the paints you have sampled and left you with a smaller group to select from. All of these that don't have an X going through them would complement your carpet, wood trim and furnishings. Could be a very serene room depending on your selection.

I think you could move the entertainment center away from the fireplace about two feet. The TV does not have to be centered on the sofa. The problem, as I see it, is that you have all the seating jammed up on one side of the room, then you have the TV center jammed up against the fireplace. Bring the love seat back to where it was originally, but make more space between the arms of the sofa and love seat, maybe even as much as one foot. Then, angle the chair a little towards the TV and the fireplace and pull that away from the sofa to create some breathing room. You could even think about an area rug to add color along with your drapes and accent pillows. If you do those fairly minor tweaks I think you'll find that the room is more satisfying to you because it will be more balanced.
