What to use for western red cedar siding finish?

We are building new. Using 6" t&g tight knot western red cedar siding on a few areas for accent. I want that cedar color - so no pigmented stain or paint. Similar look to attached photo.
What is the best clear finish? Marine varnish? We realize there will be frequent maintenance but are up to it. Beauty is hard work sometimes...
We are in Washington state roughly 600' from the water with southern exposure.
