It's not the color, it's the inexplicable white columns on either side! Can you get a different mantel complex altogether? Or just remove the white columns and the extended mantel that was added on top of them (and doesn't look level)?

Yes I was also thinking to remove the mantel and the pillars. I do not know of iT is possible. Need to check. I do not have a suitable place for the tv. The fireplace is the only suitable place to my opinion. What is I paint the wall including the fireplace in 1 colour taupe?

The TV is fine it is those white columns and monster mantel that are overpowering

How can I reduce the look of it? Expect breaking the mantel.

How about centering your plant on the left side in the middle of the window.. Take the vase with twigs out and leave that corner empty. Put an end table with a lamp on it at the end of your couch. Put a trailing vine on the right side of your fireplace mantle beside the TV. Paint your white fireplace columns either dark grey (or whatever your mantel is) or the same color as your walls or the brick of the fireplace.....the white stands out too much. Oh, and put your plant in a dark pot that goes with your TV....not white.

I die paint the fireplace. I think it is much better now
