We are looking to put in a B Vent Fireplace in our new build. We were told by one store that it needed to vent straight up through a chimney. However after mentioning this to our builder today, he says he checked with his gas sub who told him we didn't need a chimney but could run through the floor joist and out the side of the house.

So my question is, who is correct?
