Need help on my living fireplace wall

I am taking out the door in my living room wall, installing a 50inches long electric fireplace. I like modern minimalist look. Any advice on why's I should do for the wall? Paint? What color? Tiles? Or stone, slab?

    Installing stone, tile/ glass tile would definitely give it a modern lo. of course it all depends on what exactly you select.


    Another great option that is a bit or unexpected is metal. there are lots of variations available and you can create a super modern and very unique look to feature your new fireplace even more!
