Window Sill Above Kitchen Sink & Faucet Selection/Install

We just purchased a Blanco Diamond Super Single Sink for our kitchen and are in the process of shopping for a complementary faucet.

I've run into a problem: Our kitchen has a 2.25" deep window sill, which will sit 7" above our countertops. In other words:

There isn't enough height/vertical space for a high arc faucet.
There isn't enough depth between the sink and the window sill for the faucet.

What are my options? Remove the window sill/ledge?

Bump out your sink cab. Ours is out 2". In addition to providing you with more space behind, it provides a more interesting cabinet run.

Set your faucet/dispensers to the side:

If you don't have tip-out doors, you can pull your sink forward an inch easily.

We solved our problem in a way I've never seen done before...we contoured the window sill around the faucet. We call it our "custom" window sill!!!

When installing a faucet beneath a window sill, the primary concern is vertical clearance and handle rotation. High-arc faucets often collide with low sills, so measure carefully to ensure the spout and sprayer have room to move. Additionally, choose a faucet with forward-only handle rotation to prevent the lever from hitting the sill when you call for hot water.
