Yes, I'm in the process of looking for a large painting for above the sofa. I'm also planning on hanging a gallery wall of mirrors and frames in a mixed metallic palate. Thanks for the advice!

add some solid color throw pillows to your existing ones..add a throw blanket. add a decorative item in same color pop as these accents. and definitely your art.

this is going to be a lovely room! You just need to 'fill in the gaps' so to speak! Lovely moulding and furnishings. I think it reads a bit cold, but is easily solved! Some soft things will add to the comfort factor, and so will some lovely art!

Great room! Love your chandelier in the room adjacent to it and I really like the mill-work on the wall. What I would recommend is adding a paint color to that mill-work, like a soft grey ie the grey from the sofa or the paint color that is on the opposite wall. I would paint the upper and lower rectangles along that whole wall. I would also bring that chandelier glam into that wall by attaching some glam sconces within the rectangles flanking the Flat screen. As for the other two walls, I like your idea of adding mirrors in different shapes and finishes, maybe integrate a painting or two (similar to the themed art on the pillows) to add some symmetry. For the empty wall I would find an amazing piece of art filled with a balance of color and add some focal lighting to give it an Art Gallery feel. I would keep your toss pillows that you have but I would add some white ones behind them so they stand out from the grey couch. A room is all about balance, everything should speak each other. Love the idea of a wall of mirrors. For the sofa, I think pillows with a bit of sparkle, texture, and muted colors would make the overall design more cohesive. Casa Nova Design Group has a great inspiration photo. The other issue is that you have a mismash of architectural details- you have crown and panelling but are missing door casings & trims.

Sadly, your monitor colors are not off...those chairs are from pottery barn - the fabric sample looked different in the store and once they arrived over the summer I knew they were too yellow for the room. I've been trying to make them work but they're awful!
This post prompted me to reach out to their customer service and I'm waiting for a response. Considering reupholstering if possible.

Michelle, yellow and grey can look great together. You've already invested a lot of money into the chairs so think about using the chair colour in other areas of the room. You could bring it onto the sofa with pillows, with accessories on the coffee table and some art. Not too much just little touches so that it looks like it was your plan instead of a mistake. Look through Houzz for inspiration, lots of examples here.

Try Z Gallery for some glam art and accessories. Maybe a rug with more of a pop, but you furniture is beautiful.

I certainly second what others have said before me... Z gallerie would probably be your best option for accessories in the style you are looking for!

I also like the look of the room. Am a little concerned that your coffee table is invisible, perhaps because it echoes the pale tones of the rug too closely. Can you get something with more presence there?

Is this room an addition or remodel? There is a disconnect from the heavily panelled wall and the other side of the room where there is no trim molding at all.

its a remodel with the wall raised paneling and fireplace all new (painted revere pewter including all trim and moldings) and the wall opened up into the kitchen.

I read a blog on ten things designers do in a room and what stood out was the additon of metal, leather, and wood. I think you can consider these elements as you add end tables, lamps, foot stools, and other items to room.

1. Love the added elements in this room. Soft curtains, unframed art work, BIG and antlers for wood. Wood furntifute. leather insert in cocktail table, plaind pillows, and metal lamps and nailhead of chairs to the right.

2. Organic mirror, wood shelves in natural, iron chandelier, soft curtains, pottery lamp, metal and wood console table and leather ottoman with nailhead trim. A nice mix!

Places you can find these items are the big stores on trend now. Pottery Barn, Z Gallerie, Ballard Design on line, Restoration Hardware, Home Goods and Marshalls, Ethan Allen.

I think you should re-arrange the furniture. The sofa is in a bad place.

I would definitely change the location of the sofa before decorating the walls. It's a very visually odd place to have it. And once you decorate the half wall above it, it will look even more out of balance.

Finally hung mirrors and found throw pillows that tie grey into my awful chairs...

Also having a large painting commissioned for half wall over the sofa and slowly filling in gaps with objects for surfaces
