Looks like it would be easy enough to take down the lattice and make it a small patio. If not, you can put a pretty bench and some potted plants to make it scenic, if not useful.

If you do not want to use it as an outdoor area, you could expand the dining area out and create a breakfast nook. Previous suggestion is great as well to expand outward by taking down the lattice.

Following up on Leaf's suggestion, since it's off the dining room, how about an inexpensive bistro set with a nice lantern on the table? It's pretty, inviting and you might even find yourself having coffee or wine out there!

That sounds very cozy auntthelma! It could be fairly simple to do as well depending what is already there structurally. It's hard to tell by the photo, but it could make a wonderful addition onto the home

It WOULD make a great cat room. With branches and platforms for them to hang out in the sun. Can I talk you into getting a cat? ;)
