Not so sure that brushed nickel is on its way out, but chrome is classic and adds a nice sparkle to bathrooms.

I love chrome in bathrooms but stainless or brushed in kitchens.

I used brushed nickel everywhere in our recent remodel - bathrooms, kitchen, door hinges, etc. I love it but my only complaint in the bathrooms is that it does water spot and you need to wipe it down after use. Otherwise I think it's a matter of preference. If BN is on its way out, I will be soon too so the next person who buys my house can worry about it :-) !!!!!!!
