Lennox A/C Help!

I have quotes for the following options:

14ACX-041 $6,695, 39,500 BTU/16 SEER

XC13-042 $6,992, 43,500 BTU/14.5 SEER

XC14-041 $8,176, 39,500 BTU/16 SEER

They all include:

18W87 Coil CH33-43B
10F36

Furnace EL180UH090E48B

We replaced our smaller unit earlier this year with the XC14 so I don't think I would want lesser quality for our larger unit but it seems like a BIG price jump. Also, the SEER ratings from the dealer don't match up with what I've seen online. Very confused! Any thoughts?

Get estimates from some other Lennox dealers. Is this the same dealer that installed your smaller system?

Based on what I have read on the Lennox web site, the XC13 and XC14 is the same equipment except the XC14 is a little quieter and has a little better SEER rating. The build quality should be the same.

What is your location and what do you pay for electricity. The higher SEER rating is nice, but there is a good chance you will never save the extra $1,184.

What is also strange is the XC13 provides 4,000 more BTUs of cooling, so you would think the SEER rating would be better or at least equal to the XC14.

Ask the dealer if the price for the XC14 is correct. Nothing I have read so far justifies the big price difference. The XC13 seems to be the better value.

Price difference to dealer btw XC13 and XC14 should be no more than several hundred dollars. Don't know what's going on with this dealer...suggest you walk and shop around.
