Over/Under watered Jade?

Hey everyone!

My jade's leaves are quite droopy and very sickly looking. Despite being in a south-facing window, it has not had much sun recently. Therefore, I have only watered it twice in the last three months. I suspect that it is overwatered. It has never given me problems before and has declined a lot in just the last few months.

Since I have moved home for j-term, my mother watered it without my consent because she believes that it is under watered (she has never had cacti or succulents before, so I don't trust her opinion on this one). I don't know how much water she gave it.

I'm worried that, if it is actually over watered, this will send it over the edge. Does anyone know how I can remedy this? It might be important to note that only the lower leaves are sickly and the top leaves are healthy and firm.

I also know that it is super etiolated, but I am waiting until spring to trim it down. Basically, I just need some advice to bring this poor plant back to life. Thanks in advance!
