Thank you Floral_uk! So, I will have to dig it (them, several plants) up for the winter. It is getting cold this weekend but supposed to warm up to the 50s again next week! Maybe I should do it before they bloom any more. Or, I might take a chance with a heavy layer of mulch. Winter is so unpredictable here -- I have had zone 6 plants survive some years, and zone 5 plants die others (like last year and the year before).

A. coronaria St. Brigid, a double strain.. What a pity they aren't hardy enough to stay outside. I have the single ones showing foliage.

Thank you, irisgal. I am concerned about digging them up mid-bloom, but I might lose them either way, so what the hey. Maybe I will pot some and put in a sunny window and see what happens.

raee - we don't know where you live. It may not be necessary to dig them up at all.

I just noticed, since you mentioned it, that my name doesn't include my zone anymore. I wonder why?

Anyway, I am in 5b (officially, 6a, but for years we have had the lower temps 1-3 times every winter and more often than not, plants rated for zone 6 don't survive.) One source said these bulbs are zone 6 hardy, another said zone 7. Also, the source I was reading said they don't take well to being moved when not dormant.

It is just a shame that they took so long to bloom.

I am in zone 8b and mine have long been through blooming. They have died back and I can't find the foliage now. They will return in spring. I would just mulch really well and leave them where they are.
