How about making the mantel the width of the wall, so it creates a nice horizontal statement. Re; the coffee table, try turning the table 180 degrees, see how that changes the space.

I think the rectangle table works. I don't think the curtain should be a solid color. When designing a room, take into consideration the visual "weight" of the elements. You don't want too much "visual" weight to make the room heavy on one side. If you decide to go with a geometric pattern for the curtain, then put the chair on the wall side and place the couch on the window side OR is that not a window but a patio door?

The teal can work, I just can't confirm colors on computers...not all cpu monitors show accurate colors. but if the teal is close to the color in the chair, go for it

How about putting the couches so that they face each other, and then put the blue chair on the wall opposite the patio doors...that could be cool too!
