Will it adjust to reach over to the center? how far from the floor will the light be?

Hi John Rivera, thank you for reaching out to us. The Sara Floor Lamp has a maximum depth of 91", so it should work just fine depending on how far from the table you want to place the base. At maximum extension the shade of the lamp should be about 65" from the ground. I hope that helps!
