Need help deciding on fencing (front yard)

Hi all,

We're currently deep in the build phase of the house shown above...I wanted to know what your thoughts were on welded wire fences (those that are left to the elements to corrode and those that are more galvanized and maintain their iron look), particularly in tandem with a covered porch house done in shingle style. I've attached photos of a house with a covered porch and similar U shaped driveway to this below -- they used the welded wire fence I am currently contemplating. Do you think this has the potential to look trendy? Does anyone know what period this is referencing? Any other fencing recommendations you think might work better would be much appreciated.

I love that kind of fencing. I want the round top wire myself. They remind me of my grandmother's house.
Round top does not come in 6 foot.

Not a fan of this type of fencing--it doesn't look sturdy and I would not like the rust factor. Before you decide on the style, let me ask what are you trying to accomplish with the fence? Privacy, security, decorative only? Are you fencing in a pool area? Obviously this type of fence does not provide privacy, and is not terribly secure. It is not decorative either.

For a sturdy fence with no maintenance and a low profile, I'd suggest the wood and wire fences shown here:

I don’t think the fence in the picture would suit your house at all if you need a fence at thr front i would look into corten steel fencing i think the other looks cheap and flimsy and as for the the one with the round top REALLY with this house,I agree with Diana you need to decide what you need this for but I do not think these farm house fences suit your house.

You can try out vinyl fencing. It not only looks good but is also affordable and reliable. Vinyl fences are available in a number of styles as well.
