Stop. What does "remodel" of my tiny kitchen bath mean?

Well my kitchen isn't tiny, but we want all new cabinetry and flooring, my guest bath is tiny. Here's the measurements, I believe the estimate for bath was $4,500. My estimate didn't even include my kitchen nor flooring. My bathroom I want new toilet, sink, mirror, flooring and lighting. My husband will be demo all current work fixtures, I explained this to the contractor. My husband business is property preservation/ demo. they included the demo in the estimate anyway, I just take that as human error.

You're just not in touch with market labor rates. Your quote actually sounds low. The average bath remodel, is 16K. The average kitchen is 55K.

No contractor is going to want to depend on a homeowner for demo being done when it's supposed to be, with all of the disposal taken care of, and with everything cleaned up and ready for construction to begin. Most often, when they show up, it's not done correctly or done at all.

I would some what agree if it was a full size restroom. My guest bathroom only has a sink and toliet. No tub, shower etc. The same crew he would hire to come demo a house, would be my husband and crew. I know how much my husband makes per house. No way i would pay for demo, when i know what's involved. 4 guys 30 yard dumpster and 4 hours. I've seen our crew go into a 1500 square foot home rip if down to studs within 8 hours. Go back next day clean up.

You need to get detailed estimates of exactly what work they are going to do. Are they going to sheetrock over the entire 22 x 10 ceiling?

You need to get more detailed bids.

You have to outline for them in writing what you want done then get multiple bids to compare.

Above the room with the hairline crack is a bathroom, we have the quote to reglaze the shower, grout and new toliet. We have 4 floors in our home. The roof not even 10 years old. I would hate to see the cost of a roof for this house in 10-15 years.

Got it. So youve had some plumbing leakage or shower/tub leakage. I was thinking of truss uplift/roof leak combo's and fixing da root cause prior to patch repairs of that cost.....
