New Years came in quietly at our house and I am just easing myself into 2016. My daughter gave me a 15 pac of fat quarters in lovely soft shades of green, mauve, blues, and greys. I am going to make a small throw with them. I love pinwheels so today I cut out a double pinwheel.

last of the steady stream of company and events has ended (I think!!!). in spite of a very messy house and mountains of laundry, today I printed the lotto block pattern and cut the fabrics to the pieces - ready to sew now. maybe tomorrow.

Hope to finish the New Year's mystery quilt today. Yesterday was a " bust day". I had a bad night and just could not move so spent a lot of time lying down. Move over Sharon!

I think DH wants to take down the tree but since it is really my job, it can wait a day or two...or three.

HaHa, Theresa! I had a good sleep last night, so I'm up but not raring to go, yet. Seems like if something happens that isn't normally in our routine (even if we like it), it throws us for a curve and takes a few days to recover.

Today, I think I'll straighten up the chaos in the sewing area so it'll be easier to work on Kenzie's quilt.

I am still working on the Bonnie Hunter mystery. I am behind, but that is ok as I do not have any rushes for any quilting projects. I also have a quilt on the frame, one on the design wall..so I will switch from one to the other until I get them completed. This is another year of 'NO Deadlines' for me. I seem to get more done that way. LOL

Yesterday I spent two hours showing two interested friends my quilt photo gallery and the projects I brought to work on here on Maui. I hung my Birds of Paradise wall hanging. I may get some quilting in today during the Vikings game. But Downton Abbey starts again tonight, so that will take my full attention.

We had quite a trip here. We left in a snowstorm, had tremendous crowds at the airport, just made our connecting flight, had a slow car ride to our condo because of an accident and got here only to find out rental agent had made a mistake and leased our condo out until 1/3. We got here on 12/29. We were standing in the parking lot in the dark with three carts full of luggage and groceries after having traveled and driven for about 16 hours. We were unhappy to say the least. But she found a place for us for the first two nights, and relocated our renters, so we were finally able to move in on 1/1. Now we're all settled. Yay!

That sounds like quite an adventure Lois. I think I would have been ready to go back home. But on second thought...Hawaii... no I will stay.

You must be related to me, Lois. That sounds like some of our adventures. I'm glad things worked out.

The grands are out of school till Wed, so they are staying with us so DD can work. They do go home when she gets off and come back at bedtime, so I have had some sewing time. I'm working on a second tee-shirt quilt (like the green one but in orange) and have all the shirts stabilized and the "shadow" on one side of all of them.

I got a lot done on the mystery quilt. I finished clues 4 and 5 and cut the pieces needed for clue 6. I assembled 20 blocks from the parts created in earlier steps. (I guess I don't have to be vague about what I did, since the mystery has been revealed LOL.)

My original plan was to make two lap quilts rather than one large quilt, so I need to figure out if that will work or not.
