Because our basement is below our sewer line, we have a sewer ejector pump. We just did a remodel and added a bathroom (toilet and sink) which meant another pipe went into the tank.

We notice the other day a rather unsavory smell. I asked my contractor about it. He said it's probably the fact that the electrical chords are sealed by duct tape rather than a sealed cap. I'm a little dubious since I never noticed this problem before although perhaps we're using this bathroom a lot more than the other one.

What is the name of the part I need to cover where the chords come out? Any other ideas? Thank you for any help. Pictures are linked below.
