Small living room - Giant TV? Layout? Decor?

We moved in a few months ago and just recently changed the layout of our living room and have ordered a new charcoal grey couch and chair with ottoman (photo from the company below, the chaise can be converted back to regular sofa). The new couch will go where the current larger couch is and the chair will go in the corner and replace the loveseat. The room backs onto the dining room through french doors. We are thinking we will get a round coffee table. Trying to decide what to do with the large TV as this is the only place to put it. Mount it in the corner and put something underneath for cable box, PS4, etc.? It seems very big in this corner. Any other layout help or ideas are appreciated (window treatments, please?). We also have 2 cats and a dog so durability is important.

Fish tank stays - it's my husband's current obsession. Ideas on how to make it more attractive?

I would like to see the wall where the fish tank is.....could you put your TV on that wall and the fish tank in the corner where the TV is now or in front of the window rather than in the corner? Your furniture would be turned with it's back to the windows/fish tank like it is now but in reverse. With your wooden blinds, it looks like a lot of wood in the room....would you consider roller shades, sheers and drapes. Then a colorful rug and a coffee table and you will have a pretty room.

Originally had the TV on this wall. I liked that it was a bit more tucked from view but couldn't figure out the layout with the fish tank. Agreed on the wood! We are trying out options for an area rug and I hate hate those blinds.

Swapped out the loveseat for a chair closer in size to the new one. Ignore the coffee table - it is going. Will add a side table and lamp next to the chair. Thinking about mounting the TV a bit higher and getting a more interesting table below?

I think the wooden blinds are a bit too much with the wooden floor. I would have light blinds or light bright curtains.

what beautiful wood work in that room! I agree about those blinds. (btw, blinds.com is having a sale on roman shades/blinds. I think on one of their brands it's buy 3 get the fourth free).

An area rug would be great to add some life in there. I have to say, I'm really not feeling that gray color on the walls. It just doesn't do anything with all that gorgeous wood.

As for the fish tank, check craigslist and such for another type of stand. Perhaps your can paint it or something. That room desperately needs some color and life. Craftsman style were known for their warm, vibrant shades. Think autumn leaves. Sorry if you just painted.

If you are bringing in a gray sofa, I would paint the walls white or cream w/gray undertones and then accent w/yellows or greens to play w/the wood.
